Applying to Attend
Boys State is designed for young men between their junior and senior year of high school who attended the previous year at a Louisiana school and have at least one semester of high school remaining. Students attending non-traditional schools or who are homeschooled are also eligible, provided they have resided in Louisiana for the previous year and have at least one semester of high school remaining.
American Legion contact information
Selection for Boys State is coordinated by members of the American Legion on a regional basis. School nominations, interest meetings at Legion Posts, and interviews are common components of the process.
As the process involved may vary slightly in different parts of the state, students, parents, or school and community officials should reach out to their respective American Legion district contact person.

Required Forms
Once accepted to the program, Citizens must complete registration online, which includes personal and parent/guardian contact information, medical/health information, and acknowledgement with signatures from both the Citizen and a parent/guardian of the following policies and waivers:
