Louisiana Boys State is sponsored by the American Legion with almost all of the cost for Citizens borne by American Legion members, posts, and the Louisiana Boys State Commission.
You can make a difference today by helping support this life-changing program at any level. Your donation will help support the continued mission of the Louisiana Boys State program, and all donations are tax deductible.
Donations of any amount are appreciated, and the amounts below examples of what type of impact your gift can have:
- $13 – A Boys State shirt and water bottle for a Citizen
- $30 – Citizen starter kit – two shirts, water bottle, handbook, and academic supplies for a Citizen
- $50 – Supplies for two City Banners for a Parish
- $75 – Transportation costs for a Citizen
- $100 – Transportation costs and/or overnight stay for a featured guest speaker
- $125 – Cost of project supplies and supplemental materials for one academic area
- $250 – Cost of handbooks and other written materials for 50 Citizens
- $400 – Sponsor the cost of the program for a single Citizen
- $500 – Sponsor the cost of the program for one of our volunteer Counselors
Whatever the amount, you may make general donations or contribute to covering specific program costs. Common specified donations include such things as:
- Sponsoring a Citizen, in part or in whole, either generally or from a specific region of the state
- Covering some or all of the cost of a volunteer counselor to stay on campus during the week
- Contributing to the cost of specific program aspects like academic areas, political party conventions, Citizen awards and recognitions, etc.

Donations must be made by June 1 in a given year in order to ensure recognition at that year’s program. Donations after July 1 will be considered sponsorships for the following year’s program.
